TV disruption 'will continue until May'
1:45pm Friday 19th March 2010

Disruption to television channels in Oxfordshire will continue until May due to technical problems, Digital UK revealed today.
In February, we revealed hundreds of TV viewers were experiencing problems receiving ITV Channel Four and Five because of planned engineering works to the mast at Beckley.
Digital UK, the company in charge of handling the digital switchover for the government, had said normal services should resume in April.
However, today it admitted the project had been delayed by four weeks because of ‘cabling issues.’ The Oxford antenna covers more than 410,000 homes.
Regional manager Peter Monteith said: “The original timetable was that the work was due to be finished around beginning of April with no unforeseen technical problems or weather problems.
"But we have had some technical issues with the cabling with the antenna work so the main transmitter won't be back up and working until early May.”
