Choir seeking new voices
4:09pm Thursday 2nd September 2010
Singers are needed to stretch their vocal chords and take part in an autumn performance.
Rehearsals are due to start on Monday, September 13, for Poulenc’s Gloria and Coleridge-Taylor’s Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast.
The piece will be performed at St Mary’s Church, Horsefair, Banbury, on Saturday, November 13, at 7.30pm.
Planned for the spring is a performance of The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar.
Spokesman Michele Hunter, of Banbury Choral Society, said: “Singers of all vocal ranges are very welcome and there will be no voice tests, but it is necessary to have a love of choral singing.”
Rehearsals start on Monday, September 13, at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church, and any newcomers should turn up at 7pm.
